Jobs, Jobs and moe jobs - It's all about winning.

Initial jobless claims fell by 24,000 to 209,000 in the week ended April 21, the government said Thursday. Economists had predicted a slightly higher number so this is good news.

The more stable monthly average of claims declined by 2,250 to 229,250, according to government initial estimates on Thursday.  These numbers often change as ore information becomes available, but the trend continues to be good news for the economy..

The number of people already collecting unemployment benefits, known as continuing claims, dropped by 29,000 to 1.84 million.  In March, job creation appeared to sputter. The economy added just 103,000 jobs, the fewest in six months.

This left open the question whether job creation was slowing down or whether March's figure was just payback for February's explosive increase in hiring.

The latest unemployment numbers suggest that March's slowdown was temporary rather than a shift into slower hiring.

Still, economists say, working hard to find a down side to the news, with unemployment so low, it is doubtful the Trump economy can continue to create jobs at the pace seen over the past 15 months.
