Finally, after more than two decades of waiting for a president with the courage to act on the Jerusalem Embassy Act, which passed the Senate by a 93-5 margin in 1995, the people's president as he likes to be known, has as the law demands, recognized Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel and is moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. Of course the clucking of the Democrats could be heard all the way to Tel Aviv despite the fact that the Democrat party once supported the move.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately delivered a heart-felt statement of gratitude to President Trump for his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
"Thank you President Trump for today's historic decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The Jewish people and the Jewish state will be forever grateful," he said.
.@POTUS: “This decision is not intended in any way to reflect a departure from our strong commitment to facilitate a lasting peace agreement.” https://t.co/3g92EJk7Eg pic.twitter.com/mNNyAzhdA2 — Fox News (@FoxNews) December 6, 2017
